~~~A Seaside Supper~~~

Good Monday morning! On Sat. night  Joe and I hosted our dinner group, so I wanted to share our "seaside" table with you; even though we were in the dining room and NOT seaside:) But, I am hanging onto the last vestiges of summer for a little while longer. Fall is my favorite time of year but I do savor the last of summer. So, here we go. Then I used a solid blue dinner plate, a fish embossed dessert plate, topped with a turquoise salad plate and a starfish. We had our salad first and then our main course was shrimp creole! I will share that recipe in an upcoming post. It was really delicious. I also found this neat vase that looks like shell material, at Kirklands before vacation so I decided to put some of the hydrangeas in it and put it on the mantle. Notice the 2 outside vases are faux hydrangeas. I made a "grid" out of tape for the top of the vase to better arrange the flowers. Isabelle's Blue

She painted it these beautiful mid-century colors. I love the blue and the coral-pink color. It is supposed to be a lamp as there is a hole in her head for a lightbulb. I'm enjoying the pink and raspberry colors as accents, so maybe white and gold for fall? I am, however, super excited about Christmas as I plan to use all the older Shiny Brite ornaments I have in those pretty pastels. I'll also be adding icicles, tinsel and lots of silver for a cool mid-century look.
